Have I ever told you how much I love Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap? No? Well, I do. I love it a lot!
So much so that I use it for everything including as a base for my homemade laundry detergent. Today I thought I’d share my recipe for my Homemade all-purpose cleaner + Dr. Bronner’s review.
If you haven’t tried it or heard of Dr. Bronner’s here’s a summary of the company.
Dr. Bronner’s is a socially and environmentally responsible company that was founded in the late 1940s by Emanuel Bronner. The company today is run by members of Emanuel’s family.
Their Castile Soap is organic, fair trade, vegan, and completely chemical-free.

It doesn’t contain synthetic preservatives, detergents, or foaming agents. It’s 100% safe to use on kids, pets, food, and garden beds. Anything you can think of really.
Each amazing bottle can be used in 18 ways:
Face Wash (helps balance your skin’s PH)
Body Wash
Shampoo
Shaving Soap
Toothpaste (they also make toothpaste!)
Dog Wash (use the lavender one! Goodbye wet dog smell)
All-Purpose Cleaner (see recipe below)
Fruit and Veggie wash (use the unscented one)
Plant Spray for bugs
Laundry Detergent
Ant Spray
Mopping Solution
Clearing Congestion
Toilet Cleaner
Window cleaner
Dish Soap
Makeup brush cleaner
Footbath
I have tried each of these uses and it is amazing! Although, using it as toothpaste is kinda gross as it tastes like soap. Every other use though is amazing! 🙂 Oh, and it’s great for pre-treating stains.
Of course with each of these uses, you need to dilute it! One bottle lasts a while even when you’re using it every day, like me. It does come in a plastic bottle, but it’s recyclable, so make sure you reuse it somehow or recycle it!
A great way to reuse the bottle is by putting a soap dispensing lid or spray lid on it and using it for your cleaners! – Just a thought 😉
Homemade All-purpose cleaner
I love using it as an all-purpose cleaner, which was the point of this post! We use this all-purpose cleaner on everything and I mean everything!
Mix 1/4 cup Castile Soap (any scent) with 1 quart of water. Mix well and go to town!
I love using this on my mirrors and windows. It doesn’t leave nasty streaks as Windex does. It also doesn’t leave a terrible chemical smell like Windex!
I keep a spray bottle of this at home and in our workshop. Being a natural product, it will settle so make sure to shake it well before each use!
